This week-long seminar is an opportunity for participants to work independently, side-by-side with Joynoelle designer, Joy Teiken, in her South Minneapolis Atelier.
Participants will be given several project options or they may come with self-guided ideas knowing that basic patterning, draping, and construction techniques will be taught. A phone consultation will occur the week prior to the first day so Joy will understand the student's experience and concepts.
Designers will be encouraged to create a 3 piece capsule collection that will be shown during a salon-style presentation the final evening.
This seminar is open to ages 14 and older and all skill levels (some sewing experience and machine usage is best). Joy will teach individuals and small groupings the basic skills of pattern-making and draping.
Basic sewing machines are provided as well as some fabric and notions. Designers may wish to bring their own machines.
Class size is limited to 8 designers
Each day goes from 10am to 4pm except for the final day going until 8pm due to the collection presentations.

The three day, all-ages (must be at least 13) fashion design basics seminars are introductions into the art of fashion design and fabric draping taught by Joy Teiken in the Joynoelle atelier in south Minneapolis.
Participants will learn the basic skills of pattern-making and draping. Two projects of the will be designed and presented on the final day to friends and family.
Participants best suited for this seminar should have some sewing experience and some understanding of sewing machine use.
Class size limited to 8 designers
Cost $400 includes the following:
*All fabric and supplies unless special items are wanted by the designer.
*Professional hair and makeup for the presentation.
